Jeff Allen, owner of HiFi and home cinema retailer Castle Sound and Vision, has announced that he is to stand down as Chairman of The Nottingham BID (BID) after 10 years of service. In announcing his departure, he said:

“It is with regret that I stand down as Chair of the BID just as we approach its second renewal.

While it was my original intention to hand over the baton later this year a serious illness in my immediate family means that I would not be able to give the BID the attention it needs in this critical renewal period, and consequently I have decided an immediate resignation is appropriate to allow the Board to regroup and take on the renewal challenge.

It has been an honour and a pleasure to serve the city that is my adopted home and I leave pleased at what has been accomplished over the 10 years since the BID was conceived, but acutely aware of what more needs to be done, to make the city even better than it already is.

Thanks are due to everyone who has helped to make the BID the excellent organisation it has become, representing the interests of business in the city, working to make the city safer and cleaner, encouraging visitors, and providing benefits to those that work in the city.

Fortunately, I am able to hand over to an enthusiastic and capable board of directors and the fantastic staff at the BID led by our excellent BID manager Lucy Stanford who I am sure will guide the BID to a successful renewal.”
