Nottingham Ale Trail | Pub Trails in Nottingham

The Nottingham Ale Trail is back for 2021!! Due to the national lockdown in 2020, the event was unable to take place, but it's back for 2021 and we want it to be the biggest one yet.

What is the Nottingham Ale Trail?

The Nottingham Ale Trail is a month long celebration of local pubs, breweries and cask ale. This year the event will take place from Friday 3 September until Sunday 3 October 2021. We've created various themed trails for people to explore, with collectable pin badges available for completed trails, as well as a commemorative T-shirt for the triumphant souls who complete all the trails!

The trail which we organised in 2019 was a great success with 41 businesses taking part, 146 people completing all six trails and over 1,250 pin badges given out to people who completed one or more of the trails. Plus, an additional £13,000 in revenue was generated for businesses who took part.

As well as encouraging people to visit city centre venues, we want to celebrate the diversity on offer as well as the quality of local beer in Nottingham city centre. We will therefore require all participating pubs to have at least one local ale on tap throughout the campaign.

How does it work?

Taking part is easy! Simply choose one of the trails to follow, buy a half or a pint of cask ale and collect a sticker from the pub at each stop. Once an entire trail is completed, trade in your completed trail card for a limited edition Nottingham Ale Trail pin badge. For those who complete all the trails, a free special edition T-shirt will be waiting for you at the end of your journey. Trail cards and maps can be collected from any participating venues and the Nottingham Tourism Centre (please note the tourism centre is closed on bank holidays). The event is completely free to take part in and we supply everything you need to get started. The only thing we don't supply is the ale!

We politely ask that anyone taking part drink responsibly and to remember that you have an entire month to complete the trails; so don't feel like you need complete a full trail at once.

How to take part

If you are a levy payer or an independent business within the BID area or Sneinton Market and your venue serves cask ale, then we would love for you to take part. It is completely free to do so and we will provide you with all the marketing material to take part in the event. The Ale Trail will be promoted through our consumer facing channel, It's in Nottingham, and will include a social media and advertising campaign.

All you need to do is complete the form here before Friday 2 July 2021 @ 23:59pm.
