« NewsNo Place for Hate

Not in Nottingham is a Home Office backed initiative that aims to help tackle hate crime in Nottingham’s night time economy.

A ‘No Place For Hate’ safety and inclusion charter has been developed, promoting a zero tolerance approach to hate crime in Nottingham. If you would like to sign your venue up to the charter click here .

We are also offering free training sessions to night time economy venues and support providers on recognising and responding to hate crime with the aim of increasing reporting to the police and utilising exclusion notices for repeat offenders.

In addition a pilot scheme has been set up to trial the use of body cameras to capture evidence of hate crime.

An Exclusion Notice Scheme will also be piloted to exclude offenders of hate crime from all venues in the scheme for a specified period of time.

To promote awareness, there will be a four week campaign across the city centre starting alongside Hate Crime Awareness Week (12 – 19 October 2019) and we will be offering venues free flyers, posters and beer mats.
