The popular Nottingham Big Lunch is returning to the city and will be taking place this year from Monday 20 May to Friday 24 May 2019.

The aim of the initiative from Nottingham Business Improvement District (BID) is to encourage people who work in the city centre to leave their desks at lunchtime to enjoy the fantastic lunch offerings that are available in the city’s cafes, coffee shops, restaurants, pubs and bars.

After last year’s success when 1,300 free lunches were enjoyed at such venues as Jamie’s Italian, Cock & Hoop, Belgo, The Cheese Shop, The Castle and The Herbert Kilpin, this year the Nottingham BID will be funding 2,000 free lunches, which will be available to people that work in the office sector who are BID members.

There will also be opportunities for other people who work in the city to win free lunches.

“The Nottingham Big Lunch was a great success last year and we had some excellent feedback from people who enjoyed a complimentary lunch and from the businesses who took part in the week-long campaign. We are all guilty of eating a sandwich at our desk and not taking a break. For our wellbeing it is important to get out of the office, get some fresh air and use the opportunity to socialise with our colleagues,” said Richard Johal a director of Nottingham BID.
