Through innovative and creative projects, initiatives and activities, Nottingham BID will be at the forefront of recovery for the city. We will make Nottingham a city of experiences and excitement for the local community and beyond. Below are some of the activities carried out by Nottingham BID under the Promoted City stream of delivery.
The city centre marketing platform for consumers, managed by Nottingham BID. It’s in Nottingham will continue to position Nottingham as one of the UK’s major cities. The BID will explore evolving the brand identity in the new BID term.
This includes a fully responsive website, social media channels and email subscriber database. BID businesses can send in their messages and content to be featured on these channels to reach our audience.
Through the It’s in Nottingham consumer brand, a year long calendar of events and campaigns are delivered to promote different sectors within the Nottingham BID area. These are often linked to nationally relevant times of the year such as, Easter, Halloween and Christmas. There are lots of opportunities for Nottingham BID businesses to get involved with and benefit from. All projects are followed by requests for feedback from those who take place, so businesses can help shape future events, to ensure we are reaching the right audiences.

Ensuring a great Christmas experience for businesses and consumers through organised events and activities.
A highly popular outdoor experiential event, Light Night entails striking light installations and exciting performances around the city centre.
Continuing to offer the family-friendly, annual Halloween trail with spooky characters hidden across the city centre. A popular trick or treat experience with businesses and visitors.
Encouraging people to visit pubs and celebrate the diversity on offer in Nottingham this was successful in its first year, with over 1200 pin badges given out for the completion of themed trails.
As a result of COVID-19, Nottingham BID is committing to launching new virtual services, which support social distancing.
Nottingham BID is committed to working in partnership with other marketing organisations in the city, including Nottingham City Council and Marketing NG to work towards our shared visions for the city. We also work in partnership with existing and emerging events in the city such as Craft Beer Week and Hockley Hustle, to support organisations doing great work to bring visitors into the city.

The It’s in Nottingham brand interacts with its consumers digitally via multiple social media channels, which includes Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. All platforms updated throughout the day with local news, photos, videos, information and offers from Nottingham BID members, along with up and coming events and campaigns.
There are currently over 53,000 followers across the social three social media platforms. In 2021, the It’s in Nottingham social channels saw 156,798 engagements.
Nottingham BID levy payers can take advantage of the It’s In Nottingham brand by getting involved in numerous ways. Members can forward details of any offers or events they have taking place which they would like help in highlighting. Plus they can take part in the It’s In Nottingham calendar of events, which include but aren’t limited to, The Halloween Trail, The Big Lunch and The Nottingham Ale Trails.
