Working City

One of the key aims of the BID is to widen engagement and interact positively with the city’s workers and students to show them how much they are valued as part of the city centre community.

The BID introduced the MORE Nottingham scheme to support city centre businesses and reward people that work and study in the city, those that use public transport and also visitors to the city.
MORE Nottingham provides people with over 70 offers and discounts at shops, restaurants, bars and pubs in the city centre. These discounts can simply be redeemed through showing a MORE Nottingham card, an Easyrider card or valid student ID.

The scheme currently has over 100,000 users.

You can email to enquire about getting a MORE Nottingham card.

With two major universities in the city – Nottingham Trent University and the University of Nottingham – the student population is a key economic driver for the city.
The BID is building close links with the universities and the students of the city by creating exciting and appealing campaigns and initiatives. The aim is to ensure that students have a great experience whilst they are studying here and encourage graduates to remain living and working in the city once they have completed their studies.

The BID commissioned a feasibility survey with consumers regarding later trading hours in shops across the city. Having gained a positive response from them, we worked closely with retailers to support and promote a viable late night shopping offer – More After 4 which was launched in Autumn 2017.
More After 4 gave people the opportunity to take full advantage of Nottingham city centre’s offering after normal working hours and into the evening in the lead up to Christmas.

Over the years we have established a strong track record of representing the interests of Nottingham’s business community. We will continue to work as an ambassador for this sector of the community and ensure all businesses have the opportunity to have their views heard on any city centre issues which may directly or indirectly affect them.

Through Managed City projects including the Street Pastors, Taxi Marshalls and Grot Spot Cleaning service, we are dedicated to ensuring Nottingham city centre is a safe and clean environment for people who live, work and study in the city.
